Aboard Central Pk.'s hot test ride CENTRAL AIR Balloon Rides to Give Park Goers a Real High In 1858, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux won a competition to design America's first major urban park. They called the plan "Greensward," from the English word meaning "unbroken stretch of turf or lawn." Since then, Central Park has gone from being a masterpiece of landscape design on paper to the world's most famous and frequented park, hosting 25 million visitors a year on its 843 glorious acres. On the 150th anniversary of the Greensward plan, AeroBalloon is proud to partner with the Central Park Conservancy and City of New York Parks & Recreation to give visitors and New Yorkers alike a chance to see this work of art from 30 stories in the air. » Click here for more information.
